Printmaking can be an imprecise, unpredictable kind of art to make a living at. And I love it. From sketching out the idea, to designing the print, to carving the block, and lastly, inking it up and pulling the print, it's an often lengthy and varied path to the finished product. Being a printmaker informs the rest of my life. I look at things with a lens, one that converts the trees and the flocks of birds I see into prints.
I tend to think of my art as distinctly Canadian, with recognizable imagery. Currently I live in Vancouver, but I was born in and spent many years growing up and puttering in smaller Ontario villages and cities. All of the pictures I make are reflections of these places.
If you should happen to be coming to town, my work is shown at Dundarave Print Workshop on Granville Island, where I have been a member since 2004. Failing that, please send me an email if you have any questions about my work or inquiries regarding its purchase.
And thank you for visiting my website.
